Before joining the defense bar, Mehdi earned his law degree from New York Law School in Tribeca, immersing himself in courtroom experience and litigation. During his time at law school, Mehdi interned at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and with the Honorable Judge Matthew Sciarrino in Brooklyn, gaining invaluable insights and skills that he now leverages to benefit his clients every day.
Following graduation, Mehdi served as a prosecutor at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he began in the Domestic Violence Bureau. Here, he mastered the techniques of some of New York’s most skilled prosecutors. Later, in the Trial Division, he handled a diverse range of cases, including burglaries, robberies, gun offenses, attempted murders, and DWIs. Mehdi’s experience extends to federal cases as well, encompassing Federal Conspiracy, RICO, drug offenses, wire fraud, bank fraud, trafficking, aggravated identity theft, and bribery.
